There are certain things you can do to help increase the chances of successful recovery and lower your pain before you arrive at our office.

• Attempt to place a knocked out tooth back into its socket. If you can’t, store it in milk (not water) or in your mouth to prevent it drying out and dying. A tooth is most likely to survive if it is replaced within one hour.
• Cover lost fillings or cracked teeth with OTC dental cement or sugar free chewing gum to protect the nerve and prevent further damage.
• Use ice or pain relievers to minimize the pain of a toothache, or any other dental emergency.
